Dreaming in Character

Gwynne Jackson

Dreaming in character: it’s what I do. Every night’s sleep is an adventure, because I never know who I’ll inhabit. Or who will inhabit me, if I want to look at it that way. Or what stories will invent themselves, or what knotty plot wormholes will unravel.

A former Oregonian, I live in the Seattle area. On any given day I’m either writing, taking photographs (I took the header photo at Point Reyes National Seashore in California), or talking to the birds, stray cats, dogs, opossums, squirrels, and deer who stop by to say hello.

I was born and raised in New England, but I’ve fallen in love with the left coast and have a special thing for the Pacific Ocean. If I won the lottery I’d move to the beach, take care of my family and friends, then give away the rest of my winnings. Anyone in with me on that scheme?

Update: I do live on the beach! Sort of! I’m right on Puget Sound. It isn’t the endless white sand beach and warm turquoise water I had in mind when I originally wrote that, but it’s perfect.

Check out books I’ve reviewed on Goodreads, or follow my thoughts on writing. If you’re more visually oriented and want to see what I’ve been studying through the lens, scroll through the posts here labeled photography. My digital weapon of choice at the moment is a Canon EOS Rebel XS, old but solid.

I’m one of the moderators of Friday Kiss, dedicated to the craft of writing romance and women’s fiction. I also run and moderate the #FridayKiss event on Twitter.

Interested in publishing my works? I’m represented by Jemiscoe Chambers-Black at the Andrea Brown Literary Agency.

I’m pretty easy to reach. I’d love to hear from you:

Thanks for stopping by.
